Close To Your Heart (Ps 147:1-6, Ps 34, Luke 4:18-19)

When I am sad and feel bad and don't know what to say
That's when I know I am close to Your heart
When I am sorry for sin and have turned to Your way
That's when I know I am close to Your heart

When I'm bowed-down and discouraged and miss where to go
That's when I know I am close to Your heart
When I'm insulted and suffer abuse from my foe
That's when I know I am close to Your heart

Chorus:
You give good news to the poor
You give good cheer all the more
And You'll free all whose treatment's unfair
You'll set the captives___ free
And You'll make the blind see
It's the time to announce that You care -
For the broken

When I feel guilt and I look up to You to forgive
That's when I know I am close to Your heart
When I am humble and serving as long as I live
That's when I know I am close to Your heart

Chorus2:
You give good news all to cheer
And You tell me not to fear
You won't remember my sin any more
And You gave me a new heart
And You gave me a new start
It's through Jesus, Your Son, that I'm Yours -
And You are mine

When I feel loss and the pain of a missing loved one, (or "of not seeing him again")
That's when I know I am close to Your heart
When I pray, "Lord, not my will, but Your will to be done".
That's when I know I am close to Your heart

Ending:
Make my life a worthy offering to You, Lord (or "Make my heart a tender instrument like You Lord")
Let it be a sweet delight to You
