Now, breath by breath,
He gives of this life to me
lives out His life in me, too.
And day by day,
I think on His holy truth,
drink up His Life to renew.

Well, step by step,
I walk in His countenance,
taught a new confident song.
And side by side,
He shares with me all the time,
cares for me all the day long.

Bridge:
It's not like life is always sweet,
strictly upbeat.
He picks me up when I fall
till I'm complete.

Now, word by word,
He teaches me right from wrong,
reaches me when I've gone far.
And slow by slow,
I'm turning to be like Him,
yearning for Him in my heart.
